MozCon 2011 – Sessions I’m Most Looking Forward To

I hop on a plane this afternoon to head to beautiful Seattle, Washington for MozCon 2011. According to their site, I'll learn new advanced strategies and techniques from the biggest names in SEO, preview some new SEO tools that will be beneficial to my clients and sites, and network with tons of people like myself from all over the world. I wonder if being in all these 45-minute seminars back to back will remind me of my college days. There are a few sessions in particular I am looking forward to:

  • "Design That Drives Action" - I have a major, high-profile, high-risk redesign of a lead generation site coming up and I am desperately scrambling for that amazing "aha moment" with a huge idea that's going to change everything for the better. Maybe that's asking a little much of a 45-minute speaking session, but I am hopeful that Bryan Zmijewski will say something to sparks a brilliant idea in me.
  • "International SEO: Analyzing What Makes a Site Rank in One Country vs. Another" - I have a project coming up that will hopefully help open one of our lead generation sites to a foreign country, and there are lots of considerations when choosing a nation outside the U.S. to target.
  • "Schema-ing: How to Catch the Wave for the Next Generation Web" - Stefan Weitz is the director of Bing, so of course it has that "celebrity status" appeal. But also, because everything is constantly changing in the world of SEO and web marketing, I'm especially interested to see what knowledge and insight he decides to share about what's coming next and how we can prepare for the next major upheaval that changes everything.
  • "Conversion Rate Optimization: Developing a Process to Increase Market Share" -  Lead generation and conversion rate optimization is my specialty area by day, so I am always in the market for new, creative ideas or successful tactics to improve the user experience while also delivering more leads for my clients.
  • "Measure the Right Things and Achieve Magical, Analytics Awesomeness" - Aside from the obscenely cool seminar title, I am psyched to geek out about listening to the analytics guru himself, live and in person, talk about his area of expertise.  I have two of his books sitting on my shelf that I admittedly haven't read yet, but I've no doubt his session will inspire me to sit down and do just that.
  • "Head to Head: Stealing from the Web's Best - Rand Fishkin v Will Critchlow" - Actually it looks like I will be missing this seminar because of when my flight leaves, and I am totally bummed about it. I hope they post it online. I like the way they are "competing" more or less for "best presentation" - how creative!
If you will be at MozCon 2011 in Seattle, find me. I'm the blonde girl who has no idea what I'm doing there! So intimidating to be around so many smart people at once. But hopefully I come back with tons of great new knowledge and ideas to help my clients and sites.

I'll at MozCon 2011
